New Professionals PRE-CONFERENCE SESSION!

NEW PROFESSIONALS: Designed for new higher education professionals (less than 3 years in internship/work experience area), this session establishes baseline information, vocabulary and processes integral to any successful internship program. Each participant will complete a structured self-assessment of their areas of responsibility as they relate to their specific position and institution. Each participant will develop a set of personal professional development goals to guide their continued development over the next 12 months. A series of topics core to the management coordination of both 2- and 4-year institutions will be covered. After which, the participants will break into two groups (2-year and 4-year) and a set of relevant topics will be discussed. Participants will have a chance to suggest topics of interest.
At the conclusion of the session, each participant will receive a Google Drive link containing a variety of resource materials relevant to: Program Management, Students, Employers, Faculty, Professional Development, Position Statements-Definitions, Legal Info-Risk Management, Marketing, and Internship/Work Experience Courses.
